• Who will I speak to?
One of our friendly team of healthcare professionals, all of whom are fully qualified, insured and registered with their appropriate governing body (General Medical Council, General Osteopathic Council, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, Health Professionals Council).
• Where is the service based?
In the United Kingdom.
• I would like to call but what is the best number to use?
We have 3 different numbers you can use (see HOME PAGE for full details).
Our PAY AS YOU GO number, which is charged at a rate of £0.45 pence per minute (maximum call length 20 mins).
Our PRE PAY number, on which you are charged a fixed fee (£7.50) for a telephone consultation lasting up to 20 mins (plus a low call charge - 5 pence per minute from a BT landline).
Our 24 hour AUTOMATED SERVICE number, which is charged at 60 pence per minute.
Deciding on which number to call really depends on your circumstances. For example, if you are after some simple advice or information, on what you believe to be a straight forward topic, it may be more beneficial to call the PAY AS YOU GO number. This will keep your expenditure down if the call is only to last a few minutes.
If you envisage spending longer than just a few minutes in discussion with one of our professionals and do not wish to pay for the service via the telephone bill it may be more beneficial to call our PRE PAY number. For a 20 minute consultation you will actually spend a number of minutes in addition to this going through our automated credit/debit card payment system, even so the credit/debit card fee plus all the call charges (5 p per minute excluding any network extras that may apply) will equal a total expenditure of approximately £8.75 (on the basis that in addition to the 20 minute consultation, up to 5 minutes may be spent inputting and processing your credit card payment). This also results in a samll saving when compared to having a 20 minute call to the PAY AS YOU GO number.
Alternatively, the AUTOMATED SERVICE number will provide you with up to date advice and information regarding the more common questions about back pain. This is also useful as it is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For our current operating times for the PAY AS YOU GO/PRE PAY numbers please CLICK HERE.
If you have decided to call the PAY AS YOU GO or PRE PAY numbers, it may be worth noting down some of the questions or topics you wish to discuss, in order to obtain the full benefits from the call.
• Why is the maximum call length 20 minutes?
The telephone watchdog PhonepayPlus, ensures that no single call charge is over £30 for information services. This is to ensure that callers are aware of the charges they are accumulating. We agree entirely with this, and abide by PhonepayPlus requirements and regulations. With our £0.45 per minute call charge for the PAY AS YOU GO number, a 20 minute call duration is well within the £30 limit. Also, In most cases 20 minutes is more than adequate.
• Why are all calls recorded?
This is to protect you and our health care professionals. Recorded calls may also be used for training purposes providing consent has been given from the caller.
• Do I have to give my name?
No.
• What other information will I have to provide?
You are not obliged to provide any information, although you may be asked questions to aid our professionals in helping you. Some examples of these may include questions regarding your general health, previous medical history and medication. |
